Child Development Unit at Horizons Academy – Asella, Ethiopia

Building and furnishing of the second Child Development Unit (Special Needs Education classroom) at the Horizons Academy school in Assela, Ethiopia. Purchasing of equipment, such as wheelchairs, and educational aids. Funding of the ongoing operational costs of running two Child Development Units at Horizons Academy from October 2017 to June 2021, including teacher’s salaries, transportation to and from school for children with disabilities, medication, classroom supplies, uniforms, supplementary food, teacher training. Special Needs Education for over twelve children living with disabilities with opportunities for inclusive education. Including children living with disabilities into the school not only benefits these children, but impacts their families, the rest of the student population, and their entire communities.
