In Ethiopia, COVID-19 has hit the marginalized and medically fragile families the hardest. These families have been unable to provide food for their kids during the COVID-19 lockdown as most depend on daily labour work and petty trade. Our partners in Ethiopia are working hard to offer emergency kits that contain dried food (corn, grains, beans and rice), disinfectants and health supplies to help these families in this time of need.

Ryan's Rays is committed to supporting this current need in Ethiopia and has a goal to raise at least $10,000 to provide a monthly supply of food to over 130 families. With your support, we can make this a reality. If you would like to contribute to this cause, please visit RyansRays.org.

Recognizing the effects of COVID-19 around the world, especially on the most marginalized, Ryan's Rays is temporarily shifting our focus to help our partners meet the urgent basic needs of the families and communities we support in Guatemala.

The effects of global quarantine restrictions on Guatemala's marginalized communities have tripled the risk of starvation in children under 5.

Did you know that $35 (Cdn) will feed a family of five for 10 days and potentially save a child's life in Guatemala? To date, our partners in Guatemala have already provided more than 20,000 bags of food within at-risk villages and they will continue to provide these much needed resources to as many families as resources allow.

Ryan's Rays is responding to the need and would love your help in not just feeding one family but as many families as possible. If you would like to contribute to this cause, please visit RyansRays.org.

Since March 2020, our partners and those we support have been heavily impacted by the global pandemic, dramatically shifting priorities, resources, and day-to-day operations. We in turn are also shifting our priorities and resources during this time in order to support those who are on the frontlines trying to meet the basic needs of the most vulnerable children and families in Ethiopia and Guatemala. Over the coming days, we will be sharing further details on our Covid crisis response plan. ...

While here in Canada we are navigating how to reopen schools safely, for millions of children around the world, classrooms remain empty.

With food insecurity increasing at an alarming rate in the communities we support, lack of school support is exacerbating issues of hunger, malnutrition, and poverty for millions of children and their families.

While schools in these communities remain closed, we are committed to helping these children and their families with the resources they need to survive this pandemic.
